New Customers

Customers who perform Qualifying Action #1 during the promotional period qualify for two chances of winning in the draw on January 8, 2024.

Prize Descriptions

There will be a total 24 prizes valued at $100,000 each.

Mechanics

1. Twelve GK One app users who collect a money transfer in their GK One Wallet or in their bank account linked to their GK One App during the ‘Qualifying Transaction Period’ will be randomly selected to win $100,000 each.
2. Twelve ‘cash pick-up’ Customers, i.e., Customers who collect their money transfers from a Western Union store during the ‘Qualifying Transaction Period’ will be randomly selected to win $100,000 each.

Winner Selection

Winners will be selected by random draw from Qualifying Transactions on January 8, 2024.

Customers who received their money transfers via the GK One app will be selected at random from the report of Western Union inbound remittances database in the GK One app for the Qualifying Transaction Period. The process entails logging into the GK One Management Portal using company-issued credentials, entering the “Qualifying Transaction Period’ (please refer to the details about the Draw Date under the “Duration of the Promotion” section above), then entering the number of Winners for the period e.g., 12 for November 15 to January 5.

As referenced in the “New Customers” section above, Customers who performed Qualifying Action #1 during the promotional period will be entitled to two entries into the draw. Their names will appear on the list of entries twice, therefore doubling their chances of winning.

Twelve Customers who collected their money transfers from a Western Union location will be selected from the Western Union database using SPSS Version 16 software programme. The process entails logging into the system using company issued credentials, entering the “Qualifying Transaction Period’ (please refer to the details about the Draw Date under the “Duration of the Promotion” section above) then entering the number of Winners for the period e.g., 12 for November 15, 2023 to December 31, 2023. After that is entered, twelve customers’ names and their contact details will appear on-screen, and those individuals will be the Winners.

 An additional 12 customers’ names will be selected (as the back-up Winners; one back-up for each Winner i.e.. 12 for in-app and 12 for in-store customers).

Representatives of the BGLC may oversee the selection process on the draw date in person or via our online conference platform, Microsoft Teams. A link to this platform will be furnished by Ayanna Kirton Hynes (Marketing Manager, Remittances) or Bianca Ferguson Duncan (Marketing Officer, Remittances) on request and the screen share feature will be employed for the BGLC representative to oversee the process if online oversight is selected.

Prize Winners will be selected at random using the drawing tools at The GraceKennedy Financial Group Digital Factory Office on January 8, 2024 at 26 Belmont Road, Kingston 5 at 2 PM.

Contacting Winners

The Sponsor’s representative will contact the Winners via email and by phone.        GK One app users will be emailed while customers who collected their money transfers from a Western Union store will be contacted by phone.

If the email is not acknowledged within 3 business days, app users will be contacted by phone.

The sponsor will make 3 attempts to contact each Winner by phone within three (3) working days after the draw.

If the Sponsor’s representative is unable to contact the Winner, the Sponsor reserves the right to select and contact the backup Winners in the order in which they were drawn.

Failure to claim their prize within ten (10) working days after notification will result in the prize being forfeited and a new selection made from the backup Winners. All unclaimed prizes will be retained by the promoter.

Method of Payment

The method of payment for prizes will vary based on the means with which the winner collected his or her money transfers.

GK One App users’ prizes will be transferred to their GK One Wallets/Prepaid Visa Cards while Winners who received their money transfers using the ‘cash pick up’ method from a Western Union store will receive their prizes via bank transfer or by cheque.

Prizes will be paid over to Customers within 10 business days of their participation in the PR opportunity.

PR Opportunity

Prizes will be awarded to Customers only after participation in the PR opportunity or “photo-op” if requested by the Sponsor.

Photo-op for GK One app users

PR opportunity involves participation in a “photo-op” at the Sponsor’s offices located at 26 Belmont Road, Kingston 5 or its social media agency’s office, the address for which will be shared when the customer is contacted by a representative of GraceKennedy Money Services.

The photo op could also entail the submission of a selfie (photo) of the Winner holding their device with the GK One app home page displayed on their device’s screen or holding their GK One Prepaid Visa Card to sponsor’s representatives. This photo or selfie must be submitted via email or WhatsApp messenger to the Sponsor or its agency.

Photo-op for Western Union location Customers

PR opportunity involves participation in a photo op at the location from which the customer collected his/her money transfers.  The Winner will be photographed with representative/s from the Western Union store.

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend upon the number of Qualifying Transactions during the Promotional Period. Any expenses not specifically identified as part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner. Winners will be posted to our social media pages as well as contacted via e-mail after the scheduled drawing. All drawings shall be conducted by the Sponsors. Winner selections are final.

Relationship of the Parties

For the avoidance of doubt, participation in this promotion and selection as a winner in the promotion should not be construed as creating any partnership, relationship, joint venture or other association between the Sponsor and the winner. The winner is not an employee of the Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union or any of its affiliates.

Suspension or Termination

The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend or terminate the promotion temporarily or permanently if irregularities are detected.

General Rules

• The opportunity to enter to win is open only to persons residing in Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older who are permitted to sign up for the Prepaid Visa Card according to GraceKennedy Money Services customer policy.
• Employees of the Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members (mother, father, and children) are not eligible.
• Winners will be required to sign a talent release form upon acceptance of a prize which constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
• Winners will forfeit the prize in the event they refuse to sign the talent release form to grant permission to GraceKennedy Money Services and its agencies to use their names and likenesses for advertising purposes.
• Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Promotion or Redemption of any Prize.
• Neither the Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable in the event that the Winner, for any reason, fails to claim his/her prize. Neither shall be responsible for any accident or injury suffered by the Winner as a result of the Winner’s use of the prize.
• Neither the Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable for any damage to the Winner’s or any third party’s property or personal injury arising out of or in connection with this Promotion or the enjoyment of the prize.
• Winners who used the GK One App to collect their money transfers will receive their cash prizes in their GK One wallet/prepaid Visa Card in the GK One App once all requirements are met.
• Winners who collected their money transfers from a Western Union store will receive their cash prizes via bank transfer once all requirements are met.
• By participating in this Promotion, Entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules. Any claim or dispute arising under these rules is subject to the ruling of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.
• Prizes are not transferable.
• Limit one prize per winner.
