New feature simplifies sending money transfers international

Kingston, Jamaica GraceKennedy Remittance Services (GKRS) has unveiled a game-changing feature that will redefine how Jamaicans send money. Customers can now send Western Union money transfers directly from the widely popular GK One app.

This revolutionary service delivers unmatched convenience and reliability, empowering users to send funds locally and internationally with just a few taps on their phone.

“We are thrilled to offer this exciting addition to the GK One app, as we continue to demonstrate our commitment to revolutionising the space through innovation,” said Grace Burnett, President and CEO GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS). “Our customers love the convenience of being able to receive Western Union money transfers directly into the app and were always asking, “When will we be able to send?”  Now they can! This new feature provides them with unparalleled ease and convenience when sending money to loved ones in Jamaica or abroad.”

Sending money with GK One simplifies international and local money transfers. Unlike traditional wire transfers, this new feature ensures delivery of payments globally at speed via the extensive Western Union network.

Using the GK One app, customers can reliably send transactions using their debit or credit cards. Their recipients will then be able to receive the transferred funds via various convenient payout methods, including retail locations locally and internationally, bank accounts in the USA, Canada & the UK, or directly to their own GK One wallet and companion Visa Prepaid card, depending on their location.

Imagine having a loved one travelling in the United States who suddenly needs financial support. With the GK One app, you can send money, and they have the option to receive it in a way that suits them best—whether it’s picking up cash at any Western Union location, a direct deposit into their bank account or a credit to their GK One wallet. This flexibility ensures that no matter where they are or their preferred method of access, they can quickly receive the funds they need.

The GK One app leverages robust security measures to ensure all money transfers are processed safely and reliably, so users can be confident knowing their transactions are protected.

Signing up is simple: download the GK One app and register using a Jamaican Driver’s Licence, Jamaican Passport or Electoral ID and a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN). With the GK One app, users can manage their finances through bill payment, peer-to-peer transactions, credit card applications, and sending and receiving money transfers – all from a single, convenient platform.

The GK One app stands as Jamaica’s premier solution for sending and receiving remittances and is already recognised as the number one wallet for remittances in the country. This innovation, developed by GraceKennedy’s Jamaica-based Digital Factory, highlights the company’s forward – thinking approach.
