Governing Law
The terms and conditions set forth herein are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. The Sponsor, its affiliates and participants in this promotion submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

This “COLLECT YOUR WAY FOR BACK TO SCHOOL” Promotion is sponsored by GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) (“Sponsor”), Authorized Agent of Western Union in Jamaica, located at GraceKennedy Financial Group, 42-56 Harbour Street, Kingston, Jamaica.

Summary
- Customers who receive one money transfer from a Western Union store, via their bank account or the GK One App (“Qualifying Actions”) will get the chance to win one of 100 cash prizes valued at J$15,000 each.
- Note that Qualifying Actions must be completed during the promotional period.
Prize Descriptions
One hundred cash prizes which will be sent to customers’ GK ONE Wallets, valued at J$15,000 each. Customers will be required to download the GK One app from the Google PlayStore for Android devices and the iOS App Store for Apple devices and sign up for the GK One Prepaid Card in order to receive the cash prize which will be sent to their GK One Wallets by the Sponsor.
Mechanics
Customers based in Jamaica who collect their money transfers from any of the three following Western Union money transfer receiving channels:
- in-store
- Bank account
- GK One wallet
during the ‘Qualifying Transaction Period’ will be randomly selected to win J$15,000.
Winner Selection
Winners will be selected by random draw from Qualifying Transactions on the following dates:
- AUGUST 5, 2024
- AUGUST 19, 2024
- SEPTEMBER 2, 2024
- SEPTEMBER 16, 2024
The process of random selection entails logging into the system (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences – SPSS) using company issued credentials, entering the “Qualifying Transaction Period’ (please refer to the details about the Draw Date under the “Duration of Promotion” section above) then entering the number of Winners for the period e.g., 25 for August 5 to August 18. After that is entered, twenty-five customers’ names and their contact details will appear on-screen, and those individuals will be the Winners.
An additional 25 customers’ names will be selected as the back-up Winners (one back-up for each Winner) at every draw.
Representatives of the BGLC may oversee the selection process on the draw date in person or via our online conference platform, Microsoft Teams. A link to this platform will be furnished by Ayanna Kirton Hynes (Marketing Manager, Remittances) or Bianca Ferguson Duncan (Marketing Officer, Remittances) on request and the screen share feature will be employed for the BGLC representative to oversee the process if online oversight is selected.
Prize Winners will be selected at random using the drawing tools (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences – SPSS) at The GraceKennedy Money Services Head Office at 42-56 Harbour Street, Kingston at 2 PM on the following dates:

Contacting Winners
The Sponsor’s representative will contact the winners by phone.
Sponsor will make 3 attempts to contact each Winner by phone within three (3) working days after the draw.
If the Sponsor’s representative is unable to contact the Winner, the Sponsor reserves the right to select and contact a backup Winner in the order in which they were drawn.
Failure to claim their prize within ten (10) working days after notification will result in the prize being forfeited and a new selection made from the backup winners. All unclaimed prizes will remain the property of GraceKennedy Money Services.
PR Opportunity
Prizes will be awarded to Customers only after participation in the PR opportunity or “photo-op” if requested by the Sponsor. *Upon notifying the winners they will be asked to participate in a photo op. If the winner refuses to participate, they would forfeit the prize and another winner will be selected.
PR opportunity involves participation in a photo op at a GKMS location or the submission of a selfie photo of the winner holding their GK ONE Prepaid Card or cell phone with the GK ONE welcome screen visible.
Method of Payment
The method of distribution for prizes will be as follows:
Winners will be required to download the GK One Prepaid App and sign up for the GK ONE Prepaid Card to access the cash prize which will be sent to their GK ONE Wallets.
Prizes will be sent to customers’ wallets within three (3) business days of their participation in the PR opportunity.
If the above requirements are not fulfilled, the winner’s prize will be forfeited.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend upon the number of Qualifying Transactions during the Promotional Period. Any expenses not specifically identified as part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner. Winners will be posted to our social media pages as well as contacted via e-mail after the scheduled drawing. All drawings shall be conducted by the Sponsors. Winner selections are final.
Relationship of the Parties
For the avoidance of doubt, participation in this promotion and selection as a winner in the promotion should not be construed as creating any partnership, relationship, joint venture or other association between the Sponsor and the winner. The winner is not an employee of the Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union or any of its affiliates.
Suspension or Termination
The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend or terminate the promotion temporarily or permanently if irregularities are detected with prior approval from the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission.
General Rules
- The opportunity to enter to win is open only to persons residing in Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older.
- Employees of Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members (mother, father, and children) are not eligible for participation.
- Winners will be required to sign a talent release form upon acceptance of a prize which constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Additionally, by the mere fact of participating, winners assign to the Sponsor, free of charge, voluntarily, non-exclusively and with the right to transfer to third parties, in whole and/or in part, all image, audio and/or video rights arising under the Promotion, for editing, reproduction, dissemination and public communication by any means (including social networks and internal communication platforms of the Sponsor).
- Winners will forfeit their prize in the event they refuse to sign the talent release form to grant permission to GraceKennedy Money Services and its agencies to use their names and likenesses for advertising purposes.
- Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Promotion or Redemption of any Prize.
- Neither Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable in the event that the Winner, for any reason, fails to claim his/her prize. Neither shall be responsible for any accident or injury suffered by the Winner as a result of the Winner’s use of the prize.
- Neither Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable for any damage to the Winner’s or any third party’s property or personal injury arising out of or in connection with this Promotion or the enjoyment of the prize.
- Winners who collected their money transfers from a Western Union store, via their bank account or the GK One Wallet found in the GK One App, will receive their prizes once all requirements are met.
- By participating in this Promotion, Entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules. Any claim or dispute arising under these rules is subject to the ruling of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.
- Prizes are transferable however, all winners are required to present a valid form of government-issued ID (i.e. National ID, passport, or driver’s licence). A winner has the option of asking the Sponsor to transfer their prize to a third party. The Sponsor will transfer the prize to the person designated by a winner once a winner provides the first four and the last four digits of the GK One Prepaid Card of the person to which they would like to transfer their prize.
- Limit one prize per winner.
Legal
Any relationship generated by virtue of the Promotion between the Participants and the Sponsor shall be governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any legal matter that may arise from the conduct of the Promotion, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
In accordance with the personal data protection regulations and other regulations applicable in the Territory, by the mere fact of participating, participants expressly declare that they voluntarily and freely agree to the use of their personal data provided to the Sponsor for the purpose of their participation in the Promotion.
Likewise, as a condition for the assignment of the Prize, the winning participant authorizes the Sponsor to publish and use his/her personal data for commercial and advertising purposes, in the means and forms provided by the Sponsor, without the right to any compensation, during the Promotional Period and up to three (3) years after the end of the Promotional Period.

Western Union collects personal information (“PI”) in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Privacy Statement also contains information about how participants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, and how participants may complain about a breach of their privacy or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. Western Union will not disclose participant’s personal information to any entity outside of the country in which it was originally collected. A request to access, update or correct any private information should be directed to Western Union.
